Former NFL WR standout Antonio Brown accused of attempted murder, reports say

MIAMI (Gray News) - Police in Florida are looking to arrest former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown on a charge of attempted murder, according to several reports.
According to a warrant reviewed by the Washington Post, Brown, 36, has been charged with attempted murder with a firearm in connection with a shooting that happened at a celebrity boxing event in May.
The warrant calls for Brown to post a $10,000 bond and to remain under house arrest until his trial.
Attempts by law enforcement in Miami-Dade have been unsuccessful in reaching Brown, according to the Washington Post.

Brown was detained by police when gunshots were fired at the boxing event, hosted by online streamer Adin Ross. According to an ESPN report, Brown was seen in a video posted online fighting several people as gunshots are heard.
He was released a few hours later.
Brown said in a post online that he was “jumped” by some people who were trying to rob him and “cause physical harm.”
“Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me,” he said. “I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED.”
However, according to the warrant, police officers were told by witnesses that Brown was the shooter. Two spent shell casings and an empty gun holster were found at the scene.
The warrant reported that an off-duty officer working security at the event saw Brown in a physical altercation with a man. Video footage obtained by police appears to show Brown hitting another man and starting a fight. According to the warrant, Brown then appears to take the gun from the security officer and run toward the man he punched. Two gunshots can be heard in a cellphone video obtained by police as Brown approached the man.
According to the warrant, detectives met with the other man on May 21. The man claimed Brown ran at him with a firearm after the fight was broken up and shot at him twice.
This is the latest in a string of incidents involving Brown after the abrupt end of his NFL career.
Brown played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010 to 2019 and was named All-Pro for four straight seasons.
He was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2019 but was released before playing a game with the team. According to ESPN, he injured his foot entering a cryotherapy chamber barefoot, refused to wear his issued helmet and posted a recorded voicemail from his coach online.
The New England Patriots then signed Brown, but he only played one game. According to ESPN, he was released after a former trainer accused him of sexual assault and filed a lawsuit against him.
Brown was then picked up by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in October 2020 and won his first Super Bowl. However, his career ended the next season when he walked off the field in the middle of a game. According to the Washington Post, Brown was unhappy with his playing time and ripped off his shoulder pads, helmet and gloves as he skipped into the locker room.
