Airports in CSRA land millions in federal infrastructure funds

New bipartisan infrastructure law resources are on the way to help upgrade Georgia’s airports.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Federal money is on the way to help make improvements at local airports in the CSRA.

The money was announced this week by Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, who said it’s coming from the bipartisan infrastructure law.

Airports in Georgia are getting more than $13 million under the program.

They include these airports in the CSRA:

  • Augusta Regional Airport – $987,701
  • Daniel Field, Augusta – $353,072
  • East Georgia Regional Airport, Swainsboro – $157,500
  • Millen Airport – $221,000
  • Thomson-McDuffie Regional Airport – $1.163 million

The funding “will a broad range of development and infrastructure projects across the state to help ensure Georgia’s airports have the resources they need to local businesses and communities,” the senators said in a statement.
