Odor in hall leads to knife discovery at Richmond County school

HEPHZIBAH, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Pine Hill Middle School revealed in a letter released to parents that a knife was found in a student’s backpack Wednesday.

s detected an unusual odor in one of the hallways and began to investigate in the nearest classroom.

During the search, the knife was found in the student’s backpack.

The incident was addressed by the Richmond County School System Police following the code of student conduct and discipline.

Suspect wanted in exploitation of Augusta 67-year-old man

Richmond County deputies are looking for a 41-year-old man wanted on suspicion of exploitation of an elderly or disabled person.

Pine Hill says they take incidents seriously and address them quickly to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The school has an anonymous Safety Tip Line available at 706-828-0177.
